synopsis

An historian has been asked to put together a series on the history of the City of Portland, Oregon. In part one of thirty-six, the historian, with the aid of two unprofessional actors, attempts to convey the story of the city's naming and exactly why it wasn't named Boston.

This 10-Minute play received its premiere at Portland Center Stage's Just Add Water/West Festival of New Plays in July, 2005. It was directed by the author, and featured the following cast:

  • Doug Baldwin as The Historian
  • Randy Paterson as The First Actor
  • Ben Plont as The Second Actor
